PASADENA, CA (LeAnn Rimes Fans Website) - 2006 is coming up roses for LeAnn Rimes. The acclaimed Grammy winning performer opened the 117th Rose Parade yesterday morning singing "Something's Gotta Give", the newest single from her critically acclaimed This Woman CD.
And for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, the rain that had threatened to cancel the venerable event stopped as Rimes, surrounded by cowboy dancers and acrobats, sang the new song and welcomed all of America, "rain or shine", to the legendary parade.
"It meant so much to me to be a part of parade history this morning.
The parade organizers are some of the kindest most dedicated and professional people I have ever worked with. It was fun to brave the storm with them and with all the fans who weren't going to let anything get in the way of their being at the 2006 Rose Parade," said Rimes. Rimes will also sing the National Anthem at Wednesday's Rose Bowl championship game.
