Los Angeles, CA (GOMEDIAPR) - 'Symphonic Jobim,' Adventure Music's two CD set featuring the orchestral music of legendary Brazilian composer Antonio Carlos Jobim, has been nominated as Best Classical Crossover Album.

'Symphonic Jobim' was produced by Jobim's son Paulo and legendary arranger and composer Mario Adnet, and features arrangements by Jobim himself, as well as by Claus Ogerman, Nelson Riddle, Eumir Deodato, Dori Caymmi and both producers. The live recording, performed by members of the Orquestra Sinfonica do Estado do Sao Paulo conducted by Roberto Minczuk, premiered at the Sala Sao Paulo, Brazil in December 2002. The CD won a Latin Grammyä in 2004 as an import in the Best Classical Recording category.

Adventure Music, which is primarily known for its roster of Brazilian and South American artists, also received a Latin Grammy award nomination for Ricardo Silveira's 'Noite Clara' in 2004.

Richard Zirinsky, Jr., Adventure Music's president and co-founder, says, "All of us at Adventure are very proud that "Symphonic Jobim" has been selected as a 2006 Grammyä contender, and we congratulate not only conductor Roberto Minczuk, but also the producers of this recording, Paulo Jobim and Mario Adnet.' All three, as well as the many musicians involved in this project, helped to create a rare look at the orchestral side of Jobim's music and we are all honored at this exciting nomination for this exceptional recording."

In the spring of 2006, Adventure Music plans to release a DVD of the concert captured on 'Symphonic Jobim.' It will be the first DVD from the label. Adventure is distributed by Burnside Distribution of Portland, Oregon.

The 48th Grammyä Awards will be held Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at Staples Center in Los Angeles and once again will be broadcast live in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8 – 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).
