Nashville, TN. (USA Weekend Songwriting Contest) – Multi-platinum recording artist Sara Evans is featured in the upcoming issue of USA Weekend (December 2-4, 2005) as a guest judge for the 2006 USA Weekend Songwriting Contest for Teens sponsored by Billboard Magazine. Evans represents the country music genre and joins fellow artists including singer-songwriter Alicia Keys, rapper Bow Wow, reggae artist Damian Marley and alternative rockers Hoobastank to judge this year's contest. The article in USA Weekend features a Q&A with all of the judges discussing topics including what makes a good lyric, when did a song's words first touch you, how do the other genres size up, among others. Winners will be announced in the Spring of 2006 with the Grand Prize winner receiving a trip for two to the 2006 Billboard Music Awards, among other great prizes. The winning lyrics will also be printed in USA Weekend. Anyone between the ages of 13-18 who is a full-time student can participate by writing original lyrics that reflect the theme 'Come Together.' Evans' recently released, gold certified Real Fine Place is her highest debuting album with a chart debut of No 1 on the Billboard Country Album Chart and No 3 on the Billboard Top 200. 'A Real Fine Place To Start,' Evans' first single and title track from the album, was a multiple week No 1 single on both Billboard and R&R. Her current single 'Cheatin'' is being met with standing ovations when she performs the song during her live show as she tours the country with Brad Paisley on the CMT ON TOUR: BRAD PAISLEY TIME WELL WASTED 2005 concert series.
