NASHVILLE, TN (JJC Records) - Joseph James' new single "Christmas in My Hometown" tells the story of a military service man thinking about his family back home during the holidays. After writing the song, he was told about a program called Operation Uplink administered by the VFW that provides free phone calling cards to service personal overseas to stay in contact with their families back home. Last year $3.5 million worth of phone cards were distributed during the holiday season. Donations are down this year due to Hurricane Katrina, but there is still a need for the men and women overseas. With the release of the new single "Christmas in My Hometown" James will be donating 50% of all sales and songwriting royalties to the Operation Uplink Program during the first year of its release. James kicked off the campaign for his new single "Christmas in My Hometown" by performing at the Frauenthal Theater in the Grand Rapids/Muskegon area helping raise $3,500 for Operation Uplink. He performed the next night in Detroit at the Emerald Theater for a Toys for Tots fundraiser. Our U.S. service men and women need our support during this holiday season and a great way to show that we do care about the sacrifices they are making is by making sure they are able to stay in contact with their families and friends back home. As the song says, "I'm waiting for a call on Christmas Day to wish everybody a happy holiday." James has appeared for 3 years in a row at CMA's Fan Fair in Nashville with many of the great stars of country music. His songs and videos have received airplay throughout the U.S., Europe and Australia, with a number of No 1 singles on the Independent Charts. He is available for interviews and live performances of the new single, "Christmas in My Hometown." Check out the Joseph James web site at https://www.joseph-james.com. James is a CMA and ASCAP member.
