Nashville, TN (Universal South Records) - Rising country star Rockie Lynne has been named the artist Most Likely to Succeed by the editors of Billboard Radio Monitor. For its first-ever Country Yearbook Issue, published today, Billboard Radio Monitor spotlights Country's best of the best. Lynne is the only new artist highlighted in the feature. "Choosing Rockie Lynne as our 'most likely to succeed' artist was a no-brainer," says Phyllis Stark, Nashville bureau chief for Billboard and Billboard Radio Monitor, who calls him, "a winning combination of likeable and talented." "When he performed at our Nashville office we were all highly impressed, and his forthcoming album is a solid piece of work. We have high hopes for Rockie." Lynne's first single, "Lipstick," was released to radio last month, scoring the biggest debut for a new artist since Gretchen Wilson's "Redneck Woman" in 2004. "Lipstick" continues its steady ascent of the country radio charts, garnering significant increases in airplay each week. Also this week, Lynne travels to New York City by special invitation from Mayor Bloomberg's office. Tomorrow Lynne will kick off the city's Veterans Day celebrations at the Mayor's annual Veterans Day Breakfast at Gracie Mansion. A veteran of the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division, Lynne will honor his fellow soldiers with a tribute performance of his original song "Red, White and Blue." While in New York, Lynne plans to attend the premiere of the film "Walk The Line" and also the 39th Annual CMA Awards. Lynne's debut CD will be released in March of 2006 on Universal South Records.
