Ann-Marita Best Country Artist Finalist

Smyrna, TN (Wildfire Publicity) - Ann-Marita is a Top 10 Finalist for the Best Country Artist MusicOz Award! The MusicOz Awards are Australia's premier awards for unsigned and independent artists, nationally televised every year from the WIN Entertainment Centre in Wollongong. Ann-Marita had this to say: "I'm just blown away, and so grateful to all of you out there who have helped me get to this point; the DJs, the record reviewers, the fans, all my friends out there!" The award show will be held on December 1st.

Ann-Marita's current single from her self-titled cd, "Alive And Kickin'," has been described as "a 'can't hold me down' declaration that will stir the blood of 'Hell-Yeah' girls everywhere"! This song, with its driving rock beat, pumping bass and bluesy harmonica has had listeners draw comparisons to both classic Rolling Stones and country rocker Wynonna Judd. Ann-Marita's powerhouse voice delivers this 3-minute anthem of rediscovered independence with unshakable conviction.

"Alive and Kickin'" is currently at No 34 on the Independent World Country chart. Ann-Marita says that "the response from radio and fans worldwide has been great. My first single, "Face In The Crowd", was mellow and melancholic, and "Alive And Kickin'" is anything BUT that!" "Alive and Kickin'" can be found on WHP No 58 and on NFS Publicity No 100 in Australia.

Ann-Marita describes her debut cd as being about "growing up, and having to do it a little faster than expected. It's about heartbreak, survival and finding your place in the world ... When someone tells me that they were moved by one of my songs, ...I know that I've hit the mark." Ann-Marita wrote all of the songs for her self-titled album.

Ann-Marita is about to return to the studio to begin recording her sophomore album, tentatively titled Intuition.
