NASHVILLE, TN (Jeff Bates Official Website) - This past weekend on the Rockin' the Boat - 3rd Annual Country Music Cruise, Jeff Bates previewed his new single 'No Shame.' The single, from Bates' new album due out in 2006, will be heading to radio at the end of this month.

At a meet & greet early on in the cruise, a fan approached Bates asking about the new single. Bates, who co-wrote 'No Shame' with Kenny Beard and Jimmy Yeary, broke out into an a cappella version of the song for the crowd of over 120 fans.

When asked about the single, Bates commented, 'I like saying things to women that us guys aren't always good at saying. Women need to hear, ‘I don't care what anybody thinks; I love you.' ‘No Shame' does that.'

Bates did perform a full band version of 'No Shame' during his concert on the last night of the cruise. The fans went crazy, especially when Jeff crooned the line, 'like a desperate man,' which set off a flood of screams from the crowd. After the performance, Bates went directly into the audience for his ritual of signing every autograph and taking every picture until he has met every single person.

'I am so thankful for my fans and feel so flattered that they want my autograph or want a picture with me,' said Bates. 'It has never been about me, but always about my fans because they are the reason I get to make a living doing something I love.'

The passengers on the cruise weren't the only fans. A mariachi band on the ship was extremely excited to meet Bates because they perform two of his songs, including 'Long Slow Kisses' and 'My Mississippi.'

GAC's Country Music Across America will air a special feature about the Rockin' the Boat - 3rd Annual Country Music Cruise on Thursday, November 3 at 9pm EST.
