LAS VEGAS (Highway 101 Fans Website) - Paulette Carlson, founding member and former lead singer of Highway 101, is back on the road promoting her newest release It's About Time. In honor of Veteran¹s Day and her first single off the album, "Thank You Vets," Paulette will make a special appearance at Operation Welcome Home (Nov. 10-13, 2005) held at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada. The four-day event is the national kickoff of a one-year celebration to publicly honor, thank and recognize America¹s Vietnam veterans. It is gaining national attention on Fox, CNN, MSNBC, Paul Harvey and G. Gordon Liddy radio shows and in multiple newspapers through the Associated Press. Paulette wrote "Thank You Vets" to help remember those who fought in the Vietnam War. She was inspired by the recent death of her brother and wrote the lyrics and music to the song in only ten minutes. "I am so privileged that I can share this special song at Operation Welcome Home," said Carlson. "I felt it was something that needed to be heard and the fact I can perform it in front of vets and their families is an honor." Paulette announced her return to Country music after a nine-year hiatus. Her new album, It¹s About Time, contains 12 new tracks, 10 of which were written by Carlson herself. The debut single "Thank You Vets" will be shipped to radio in time for Veteran¹s Day. As lead vocalist for the highly successful Country group Highway 101, Paulette helped the band win both Academy of Country Music (ACM) and Country Music Association awards, including "Vocal Group of the Year" two years in row. The band also garnered two Grammy nominations. Highway 101¹s string of Top 10 hits include classics like "The Bed You Made For Me," "Whiskey If You Were a Woman," "Somewhere Tonight" and "Cry Cry Cry."
