NEW YORK (Blink-182 Ofiicial Website) - For a band that broke their career wide open by streaking nude in a music video, blink-182 has certainly earned the respect of the rock music universe. That's why the time is right to release "blink-182's Greatest Hits," a retrospective that spans the band's entire career. Featuring 16 tracks, the CD is sure to satisfy. Also for sale is an entire DVD's-worth of videos. Both packages arrive in stores November 1.
Songs featured on the album include classic hits like, "Dammit, " "Josie," "What's My Age Again," "All The Small Things," "Rock Show," "Feeling This" and more. Additionally, the CD features the bonus tracks "Not Now" (recorded during the "blink-182" sessions) and "Another Girl Another Planet" (the theme from the MTV series "Meet The Barkers"). The DVD includes fourteen classic blink-182 videos including the original version of "Stay Together for the Kids" (never seen on TV).
Over the years, bassist Mark Hoppus, guitarist Tom DeLonge and drummer Travis Barker have turned blink-182 into one of the world's most emulated bands, and along with Green Day, pioneered the 90's style of pop-punk.
The band got its start in a suburban San Diego garage. Since launching their recording career in 1993, the trio has sold close to a million concert tickets and more than 12 million CDs in the US alone, thanks to albums like "Cheshire Cat," "Dude Ranch," the quadruple-platinum "Enema Of The State," the live-in-concert "The Mark, Tom and Travis Show," "Take Off Your Pants And Jacket" and their 2003 self-titled release.
Their list of accomplishments is long, as well. Blink-182 has won Blockbuster, Teen Choice and MTV Video Awards, toured the world several times over and performed on an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf. The band has graced the covers of Rolling Stone, SPIN, Alternative Press (4x), Teen People, Modern Drummer, Guitar World and Teen, to name a few. They've also performed on Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night With Conan O' Brien, co-hosted a week on the Jimmy Kimmel Show and even appeared as themselves in the hit film "American Pie" and on MADtv.
