NASHVILLE, TN. (Capitol Records) - On Friday, September 16, Country star Trace Adkins was admitted to a local hospital in Morton, Minnesota following his concert performance earlier in the evening. Adkins had been experiencing abdominal pain for past two days and entered hospital for treatment before heading to next venue.

Adkins was diagnosed with an abdominal inflammatory infection and emergency surgery was performed. His doctors say the procedure was a success and are expecting a full recovery with no post-operative complications. Adkins responded favorably to the surgery and is in good condition.

To date, previously scheduled concerts have been cancelled including Spencer, IA (9/17), Hutchison, KS (9/18), Ashland, OH (9/21) and Centerville, MI (9/24).

Adkins, a multi-platinum country entertainer, performs to packed houses in more than 120 cities across the United States each year. His latest chart-topping CD, Songs
About Me has already produced two hit singles and the third, "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" is scheduled to hit radio on September 26.
