NASHVILLE, TN. (Webster PR/ Top40 Charts) -
Aaron Tippin hopes to lead the way among country artists, proud to be the first singer to contact the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund to help in their efforts to raise both awareness and funds needed to support the Hurricane Katrina survivors by encouraging fans to donate at every show.
'It's not political, it's not Republican or Democratic issue, it's about America coming together to help those in need,' says Aaron. 'It's great to see, in such a divided state in our country, Bush and Clinton joining forces for the good of America.'
Kicking off his effort in the small community of Meshoppen, Pennsylvania on September 4th at the Kiwanis Wyoming County Fair, Aaron Tippin simply requested his fans to walk up to the front of the stage and donate anything they could to help those not fortunate enough to enjoy a concert due to the tragedy in the southeast. His fans helped raise $1,761.48 in less than 6 minutes!
'In the time it took me to sing 'Stars and Stripes' and 'Kiss This,' our fans had placed $100, $50, and more in the buckets! I couldn't believe it! You could literally tell that they were pulling everything out of their pockets,' Aaron commented. 'We plan to do this at every show this year and donate the funds to the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund every week!'
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and her immense devastation, former Presidents Bush and Clinton established the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund to provide relief and rebuilding resources to help the victims of this disaster. This charitable fund will collect cash and in-kind donations and work with the governors of the affected states to coordinate both the short and long term relief efforts.
