NASHVILLE, TN. (Webster PR/ Top 40 Charts) - Hank Williams Jr. is joining Kid Rock, Alan Jackson, Sheryl Crow, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Rolling Stones, Neil Young and Paul McCartney for ReAct Now: Music & Relief, a three-hour concert special airing Sept. 10 (8 - 11 EST) on CMT, MTV and VH1 to benefit the Katrina disaster relief campaign. The event will raise funds via call-in donations for relief in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

'The American Dream is still very much alive, even in those that have suffered, and at a time like this we need to all join together and remember what being an American means,' Hank simply stated in response to the invitation.

The multi-artist, multi-genre, multi-platform special is set to air commercial free and simultaneously across all of MTV Networks, including MTV2, VH1 Classic, mtvU, along with MTV Overdrive and VSpot, MTV & VH1's broadband video services. The special will seek to raise much needed funds for the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, America's Second Harvest and similar organizations as they continue their relief efforts in the devastating wake of Hurricane Katrina. The campaign will also seek to activate the diverse audiences across MTV, VH1 and CMT to drive volunteerism, donations and general awareness.

Other talent participating include Kanye West, 3 Doors Down, Kelly Clarkson, Brian Wilson, Melissa Etheridge, the Neville Brothers, Trent Reznor, Cash Money's Baby and Lil' Wayne, Motley Crue, Simple Plan, Dashboard Confessional, Goo Goo Dolls, Staind, Good Charlotte, Audioslave, Common, John Mayer, Marc Broussard, Maroon 5 and the Radiators. Green Day, Usher, Alicia Keys, Dave Matthews Band, Rob Thomas, Ludacris, Gretchen Wilson, John Mellencamp and Linkin Park's Chester Bennington were among the first acts announced.
