NASHVILLE, TN. (Tootsie's Records) - Setting a standard with notable career achievements, recording artist John Stone is off to a good start in an independent race. John Stone released his debut album on Tootsie's Records in October 2004. Since then, Stone has visited more than 200 radio stations across the nation, received his degree in Drafting Design Technology, he was the celebrity judge at the 2005 B95 Country Showdown, he made a cameo appearance on the Today Show with Katie Couric, performed at six presidential campaigns for President
George W. Bush last fall, and last week, he made a special appearance in Tim McGraw's NFL halftime highlights segment taped for Monday Night Football (by NFL Films).
John, who is a singer/songwriter and is proficient on the guitar, bass, drums, piano and harmonica, introduced his talents as a mainstay-recording artist. Making an immediate impression, Stone's debut single, “Shame On Me,” from his independent project MEET JOHN STONE, charted at No. 42 on the industry charts (R&R Indicator). His second offering followed suit-”Hell and Half of Georgia” entered at No. 48 (R&R Indicator).
John has now received the special invitation to open for Broken Bow Recording artist Craig Morgan as part of his late summer tour. “John's music and high energy show will be a great addition to our end of summer tour dates. He'll fit right in and we're looking forward to having some fun at these shows,” says Morgan.
Accepting the invitation, John will play twelve dates with Morgan beginning Friday, August 19 in Wyoming, RI. “I have nothing but the utmost respect for Craig Morgan. He's a trendsetter for all of us who stick with tradition without compromise and I am more than proud in the invitation,” says Stone. “Plus...heck, I've played before the President, I might as well play before Captain Craig Morgan!” Stone adds in jest.
As part of the schedule, John Stone will be the second country music artist to ever appear on the Stone Pony stage (Home of Bruce Springsteen and The E street Band and known as one of the greatest rock clubs of all time), following Dierks Bentley, preceding Craig Morgan.
