 WASHINGTON, DC (USO) - Rascal Flatts will soon travel to the Persian Gulf Region to perform for and "meet and greet" service members on a tour sponsored by the USO and MWR at USAREUR-G1. The reigning Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music "Vocal Group of the Year," will sign autographs, pose for pictures and perform several shows for troops serving in the most difficult region of combat activities. The group's most recent album, "Feels Like Today," is the best-selling country album of 2005, with sales of more than two million copies. The multi- platinum album features several radio hits, including the No 1 singles, "Fast Cars and Freedom" and "Bless The Broken Road." The band is currently on the road heading their "Here's To You" tour through Dec. 2005. Rascal Flatts is experiencing their best career year to date as they have spent a record third of 2005 at No 1 on the radio singles charts and album sales surpassed 7 million. Their mega-hit single "Bless The Broken Road" was certified as a platinum digital download and their concert tour is breaking venue attendance records. This tour continues the USO tradition of bringing entertainment to troops serving far from home. Several celebrities have made trips for the USO so far this year, including Toby Keith, Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey, Charles Barkley, Gary Sinise, Kelly Clarkson, Henry Rollins and Colin Quinn.
