NASHVILLE, TN. (Warner Bros.) - "Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill," the third album from Warner Bros. recording artist Blake Shelton, has been certified gold by the RIAA in recognition of 500,000 units sold. Miranda Lambert presented Blake with the 3' x 3' plaque commemorating the milestone. The presentation was made at Nashville's Coliseum during Friday night's CMA Music Fest Nightly Concert, which featured Blake Shelton, among others. "We could not be prouder of Blake for achieving this gold record on 'Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill,'" commented Bill Bennett, Warner Bros. executive vice president. "Blake continues to grow as an artist and is a vital part of our Warners family."
The album has already produced Shelton's third No 1 hit, "Some Beach," recently certified by the RIAA as a gold digital single, and his current single, "Goodbye Time," is in the top 10 and climbing at country radio.

"Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill" was released on October 26, 2004, and was produced by Blake's longtime collaborator Bobby Braddock. With this album, Shelton wanted to "create a place" and he describes these songs as each being a separate conversation that could be overheard in your favorite bar. "Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill: A Video Collection" was released on DVD on October 19th and has been certified as a gold DVD by the RIAA in recognition of 50,000 units sold.

Profiled in Entertainment Weekly, USA Today and Country Weekly, among others, Shelton is a hit with critics nationwide. He will appear on ABC's "Good Morning America" in July and has performed as himself on NBC's "American Dreams" and Showtime's "The Chris Isaak Show" and appeared on "Access Hollywood" and "CNN Headline News" in addition to several award shows.

Shelton burst onto the scene in 2001 with his five-week No 1 smash "Austin" from his eponymous debut, making him the first debut male country artist to simultaneously own the top spot on both the Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and the Top Country Singles chart since Billboard introduced the singles sales chart in July 1995.

That success was not limited to the single. "Blake Shelton" entered the country albums chart at No 3, making it the biggest first-week album sales for a debut male country solo artist since 1992 and has since been certified gold, selling more than 500,000 copies. The album continues to sell and is approaching 1 million units sold and platinum certification.

With Shelton's sophomore release, "The Dreamer," he proved that lightning does strike twice as it entered the country chart at No 2. The debut single "The Baby" marked his second trip to the No 1 spot on the Country Singles chart and the Hot Country Singles chart.

Shelton has been nominated for several awards ranging from an American Music Award, Country Music Association Awards, Billboard Awards and several Academy of Country Music Awards. In 2001, he was named Radio & Records' Breakthrough Artist of the Year, and in 2002 received Music Row magazine's Critics' Pick Award.
