NASHVILLE, TN. (Arista Nashville) - Arista Nashville supergroup Diamond Rio will make a guest appearance on a special edition of NBC's Today, airing from Nashville on Thursday, April 28. A two-time nominee for the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards, the band will be on hand to share the excitement surrounding Team Rio, a charity fundraising effort participating this Saturday in Nashville's Country Music Marathon & 1/2 Marathon. With Rio members Marty Roe and Jimmy Olander running in the event and serving as celebrity team captains, Team Rio has been open to the public, with its volunteer members training for the big event, all to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.

Coincidentally, in addition to the band's recent ACM nomination as Top Vocal Group, Rio has also been nominated for the fan-voted ACM/Home Depot Humanitarian Award, recognizing an artist's charitable contributions. Fans now have the opportunity to vote once daily by visiting www.homedepot.com/acm, with the winner revealed on the award telecast on May 17.

Diamond Rio's longtime work on behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, as well as many other causes and organizations, has, to date, generated over half a million dollars for charity.
