NASHVILLE, TN. (www.markchesnutt.com) - Mark Chesnutt will release his first music video since 2002. Mark will film the corresponding music video to his current single 'A Hard Secret To Keep' the first week in May.

The video will be shot on May 5 at an abandoned industrial location in downtown Nashville by Americana Entertainment Production. Producer John Grimson describes what viewers can expect, 'The treatment for the video is such that the piece will be abstract yet systematic. We are shooting in an industrial setting to achieve a stark, minimal look. Our intention is to successfully deliver the aura of a haunting 'secret.'' Mark adds, 'I think the vision for this video is right on the mark (no pun intended). I keep describing the song as a cheatin' song, but in reality, it's not the typical cheatin' song. There is no apology. The song is a full admission with no regret.
But, that doesn't mean it still doesn't haunt the mind!' Patrick Isbey, who will direct the shoot, shares, 'In addition to the visual artistic allure, we will deliver the video with an innovative sound. The video will feature a live acoustic audio track as performed and recorded by Mark's band.'

The single (as written by Jim McBride and Jerry Salley) is a captive song about infidelity that is capturing a positive response:

He is so-o-o-o great. In a career of sublime vocal performances, this subtlety-shaded, haunting, minor-key masterwork may be his finest ever. –MUSIC ROW MAGAZINE Robert K. Oermann

...a heart-rending ballad full of genuine heartfelt emotion...the fiddle-and-steel drenched song deserves to become a country classic.—MAVERICK MAGAZINE

..a new country 'hurt' tune (that Mark Chesnutt delivers with absolute perfection). —COUNTRY MUSIC NEWS

...Mark is in his element with this cheatin' song ("A Hard Secret To Keep").—BILLBOARD MAGAZINE

...a song you'll keep coming back to—'A Hard Secret To Keep'--is a haunting track about the downside to infidelity, not in its melody or subject matter but in the brooding atmospheric auditory picture that it paints.—THE SAVVY INSIDER

"A Hard Secret To Keep" is probably one of the best cheatin' songs since Garth's "The Thunder Rolls."—FM SOUND

The guy (Mark Chesnutt) is a potential future Hall of Famer and like fellow veteran Texan Gene Watson, he is held in high esteem equally by his peers and true country fans...He has played the circuit for more than 20 years...often setting new box office records, proving yet again that...this is what the fans and country music listeners really want.—MAVERICK MAGAZINE

'Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm not into the bright lights and glamour. So, it's just going to be me (...and my secret). I'm hoping the video will convey that the secret may not be about an actual affair. It could be a secret about chemistry between a man and a woman whom he's just met. It could be about a glance across a room, making eye contact with a woman that he's never seen before but that he just can't seem to forget. I think this is a deep cheatin' song—as far as cheatin' songs go!' adds Mark.

'A Hard Secret To Keep' was officially released to radio on April 11, 2005. The single is featured on Chesnutt's debut album on Vivaton Records entitled SAVIN' THE HONKY TONK. Viewers can expect to see the video on television screens nationwide by mid-May. For more information on Mark Chesnutt and his new album, visit www.markchesnutt.com.
