New York, NY (Top40 Charts) In celebration of the recent release of William Brittelle's new album, Spiritual America, on New Amsterdam and Nonesuch Records, a walk-about concert and listening party called Forbidden Colors will be held at Public Records in Brooklyn, New York, on Tuesday, June 25, at 7pm ET. The event is named for a piece - the video for which can be seen below - on Spiritual America, an album on which Wye Oak, Brooklyn Youth Chorus, and the Metropolis Ensemble perform a genre-defying electro-acoustic song cycle written by Brittelle. Selections from the album will be played on the Public Records sound system between live performances by various artists, as will pieces from État, the new album from Brittelle's label mate, Daniel Wohl.
For additional details and tickets to the event, visit dice.fm.

PopMatters calls Spiritual America an "excellent" album that "defies traditional genre conventions through fusing elements of traditional classical, electronic music, and shredding rock guitar through a narrative of crisis and faith." To pick up a copy, head to iTunes, Bandcamp, Amazon, and the Top40-Charts.com Store, and listen on Spotify and Apple Music.

Daniel Wohl's État was called "beautiful" by NPR's Tom Huizenga. "I think he's really one of the most imaginative electroacoustic composer-musicians working today." To pick up a copy, head to iTunes, Bandcamp, and the Top40-Charts, where CD orders include an instant download of the complete album. It can also be heard on Spotify and Apple Music.
