BURBANK, CA. (Academy of Country Music/ www.acmcountry.com) - As part of the festivities surrounding the 40th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, the Academy announced today that VINCE GILL will be hosting the 2nd Annual Academy of Country Music Celebrity Golf Classic to take place on Sunday, May 15th, 2005, two days before the ceremony itself.
The 2nd Annual Academy of Country Music Celebrity Golf Classic is a fund-raising effort on behalf of the new Academy of Country Music Charitable Foundation, an in-house organization designed to raise support, and embrace programs dedicated to the awareness, growth, and education of music. The sold-out event will be held at TPC at The Canyons in Las Vegas. The players will enjoy a 45 minute clinic prior to teeing off featuring PGA TOUR Player, Bob May.
Bob will review certain shots that may come up during the round at The Canyons and will have a question and answer session about life on the TOUR and his epic battle with Tiger Woods during the 2000 PGA Championship.

"I am excited that the Academy of Country Music, Chevy and the PGA have partnered together to bring an exciting golf event to Las Vegas," commented David Corlew, President of the Academy of Country Music. "With Vince Gill as our host, it should be an event to remember!"

The 2nd Annual Celebrity Golf Classic is being presented by Chevy. In addition, ALDILA, Complete Logistics, Coors Light, Dr Pepper, PING, Soft Spikes, and James Stroud Productions will be sponsoring this half-day event.
