HOUSTON, TX. (DAN WORKMAN MUSIC/ www.johnevansband.net) -
Music producer Dan Workman, and partner, Logan Bosemer, have picked up another great talent to compliment their growing roster of artists in management,
Houston based John Evans Band.
The John Evans Band has been a mainstay in the Texas music scene for the past several years with a list of influences that span the genre map. From classic country and rockabilly to old school punk and rock 'n' roll, each album project progresses in a different direction than the last.
2005 brings the release of "Circling the Drain," produced by Steve Christensen and John Evans at world-famous SugarHill Studios in Houston. The album resonates towards the more rocking side of the music barometer while sticking close to the band's Texas roots. Quoted as 'heavy metal honky-tonk' by The Galveston Daily News, 'Circling The Drain' leaves a little something for everyone – old fans and new.
A slight departure from the usual, this album sends the John Evans Band into the 'alt-radio' friendly world. Evans elaborates on this change in direction, "People say it's not quite country and it's not quite rock, but it has all the stuff that country has got and all the stuff that rock has got. They're not quite sure what it is and that's good, I'm glad we're not like everyone else."
Over the past three years John Evans has repeatedly beat out Houston's top musicians at the Houston Press Awards to include Best Country and Western musician, Best Songwriter, Best Male Vocalist three times and Local Musician of the Year, twice. An accolade that is representative of his constant metamorphosis as musician, songwriter, performer and producer.
Dan Workman Music, a full service production company, added artist management and development in 2004. Creative Director, Logan Bosemer adds, 'John Evans is an extremely talented musician, songwriter and producer who has made a name for himself in Texas music. We believe in each of his talents and hope to help him get the recognition he deserves.' Regarding the John Evans Band she also adds, 'We were extremely excited and honored to add them to our clientele.'
Bosemer, a Nashville transplant, has worked with BR549, Diamond Rio, Harley Allen, and multi-platinum country superstar Keith Urban. She states, 'I've worked with artists at every stage of the game. To be able to look at an artist at this point and see the big picture is vital.'
In 1997, Dan Workman recorded then unknown vocal group Destiny's Child and went on to work on all of their projects, group and solo, most recently Beyonce's multi-platinum 'Dangerously in Love.'
