NEW YORK ( www.ignaciopena.com) - Puerto Rican singer/songwriter Ignacio Pea will perform in a Latin music showcase at the South By Southwest Music Festival and Conference in Austin, Texas, which will take place Saturday, March 19 at 8:00 PM at Mambo Kings.

This will be Pea's first time participating in the festival, which gives both independent and signed artists the opportunity to gain exposure to a multitude of fans and music industry professionals from around the globe. Other artists scheduled to perform with Pea are Superlitio, Nio Astronauta, Volovan, and Cuban Cowboys.

"Austin is a great place for live music and we're happy to have a chance to share what we do with the people over there. We're also looking forward to seeing the Doves perform," exclaims Pea. Other performers featured at the SXSW Music Festival this year include Elvis Costello, Billy Idol, Aimee Mann, Vanilla Ice and many more.

Pea is currently promoting the second single from his album, Anormal, distributed by DLN Distribution. The track, Dnde estabas?, is receiving airplay on radio stations throughout the country and is currently #13 on the Radio & Records Magazine chart for Spanish Rock/Alternative music. Several other tracks on the record also remain on the R&R play lists.

Pea's visit to Texas for SXSW will allow him the opportunity to share his music with the state including co-headlining Hard Rock Caf in Dallas on Friday, March 18 at 10:00 PM. The show is sponsored by Ms Musica TV, which is currently airing the videos for Dnde estabas? and Hey T (Imbcil) in high rotation. Other performers include Volovan, Vaquero and local band Morvius.

Currently in its 19th year, the SXSW Music Conference, by day, offers artists, record executives and radio players the chance to gather at the Austin Convention Center to participate in panel discussions, demo listening sessions and mentor sessions where they can exchange ideas and discuss the future of the music industry. By night, the SXSW Music Festival showcases bands and solo artists at venues around the city of Austin, deemed the "Live Music Capital of the World."

SXSW takes place March 16 20, 2005. For more information: www.sxsw.com or www.ignaciopena.com.
