5 Mile Band Wins MTM 'Rising Star' Award

AUSTIN, TX. (www.5mileband.com) - Austin-based 5 MILE Band has received the coveted "Rising Star Award" for its CD "Keep On Ridin'" at the annual MyTexasMusic awards show. The award is given for the group who "shows remarkable promise for future endeavors," according to MyTexasMusic.com, which sponsors the awards program.

"We were amazed at all the support we received. We just love playing the music, and it appears people are responding," said Stewart Mann, lead vocalist. Other band members include: Cody Cotton (songwriter, guitar, harmonica); Wes Wilson (rhythm guitar); Tannon Hines (drums); and Jay Blake Thompson (bass guitar).

"Keep On Ridin'" is a compilation of the band's noted Southern country rock style.
