NASHVILLE, TN. (www.rascalflatts.com) - 2005 is proving to be a banner year for Platinum Trio Rascal Flatts. In addition to the multi-week #1 success of "
Bless The Broken Road" and the "Here's To You Tour" selling out arena-sized venues nationwide, the band now boasts a combined fan club and street team of over 100,000 members, a first in Country
Music history.
Formed in 2002 to support the release of their second studio effort, Melt, the official street team, "The Flatt Dog Pound," is a group of fans that actively participate in marketing the band. Members compete for exposure by posting flyers, decorating their vehicles, school lockers and recruiting friends and family to the team. They're often put to work at concerts as well, passing out promotional items and information to others in attendance.
The fan club, located at www.RascalFlatts.com, is very much like the street team but provides an additional element of entertainment, including video, audio and interactive features. Members of the club also have access to the best seating at concerts and a chance to meet the band each year.
"We love looking out into the audience each night knowing that the people near the stage are fan club members," says lead singer, Gary LeVox. "It's like performing for your close friends and family in every city. Having the chance to give something back to those who have been so important to us throughout our career is just a great feeling. It never gets old."
Fan club President, Pinky Gonzales of Artist Media Group, elaborates, "We have a blast working with these guys. Whether we're out on the road shooting back stage video footage for the website or producing fan club-only concerts and special events, there's a feeling of being a part of something special. When it comes to connecting with their fans, nobody does it better than the Flatts."
The Flatts are currently promoting their third Platinum-selling album, Feels Like Today, and will be headed back into the studio this spring.
