NASHVILLE, TN. (Spent Records) - Newcomer Steve Porter takes one step forward and one "Back To The Country," via CDX Volume 364 shipped to country radio. Written by Porter, the single is an edgy, guitar-driven, percussion-based masterpiece and Steve's strong, Southern vocals are true to his raisin'. The track is his first U.S. release on Nashville- based Spent Records.

The South Carolina native grew up listening to David Allan Coe and Hank Williams, Jr., and he brought that influence along for the ride when he made Nashville his home several years ago. His debut rings with redneck images of swamps, 'coon dogs, lightenin' bugs, Moon Pies, newly-plowed fields and an honest day's work. Porter is joined by stellar musicians Bobby Messano/guitars (Alecia Elliot, Steve Holy); Rick West/guitar & keyboards (opener for Willie Nelson, Toby Keith); Ted Stevenson/fiddle (Terri Clark, Rodney Atkins); Sean Smith/bass (opener for Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Mark Herndon); Mel Watts/drums (Lisa Brokop, Alecia Elliot, Marty Stuart) and talented newcomer Jessica Trimbell on keyboards.

Porter takes a giant leap forward with this look back - and takes us all along for the ride. "Back To The Country" is where we all need to go.
