Gabrielle Marlena Releases New Single 'Easier Love' Announces New EP
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Brooklyn-based Indie-folk artist Gabrielle Marlena announced the release of her new EP and premiered it's first single and title-track "Easier Love" via GroundSounds. The new EP follows up Marlena's debut full-length album, Good Music For You, and was written during her cross country tour following the release of her debut album in August of last year. She booked the tour herself and drove across 13,000 miles on her own to play 25 shows in 21 different states - all in 36 days!

On "Easier Love," Marlena recalls a moment on the road where she called her ex after totaling her car, a moment that reminds her of all the reasons the relationship ended in the first place. Marlena's honeyed vocals and simple, yet impactful melodies help speak to loneliness she encountered on the road, but quickly moves into feelings of independence and persistence as she powers through major setbacks.
"'Easier Love' is about someone I told myself I would never write another song about," Marlena explained to GroundSounds. "But, the problem was... I took my first relationship, turned it into an album, put my ex's face on the cover, and distributed it in the form of canvas tote bags, T-shirts, mugs, and CDs all over the country. While I was on tour, sometimes I would fall back into the emotions I was singing about. I snapped back to the present as soon as I called him."
Marlena's new EP Easier Love is out June 8 and will host a release show at Rockwood Music Hall on June 5.
