RockWood, Canada (Mike Belobradic PR/ www.alyshabrooke.com) - Country singer Alysha Brooke will be giving a special performance for young patients at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto on Friday, February 11. Alysha's desire to perform at the hospital stems not only from her commitment to children's charities, but also because two of Alysha's nephews have been diagnosed with leukemia. One nephew is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital (the other recently went into remission). Alysha anticipates that both nephews will be present at the special performance on Friday. This performance is something that Alysha wants to do to brighten the day of those children currently resident in the hospital. Children who are unable to leave their rooms to attend will be able to watch a video feed. Alysha will perform a selection of songs from her debut CD (Nuthin' but a Chevy) along with a number of cover songs geared towards her audience. In addition to this special performance, Alysha has taken up the cause of young Michael Papaioannou of Milton. Michael suffers from Lesch-Nyhan Disease. Since the release of her debut CD last November, Alysha has donated half of all proceeds between the Michael fund and The Hospital for Sick Children. Alysha will be taking part in the upcoming benefit concert for baby Michael on February 19 in Milton, where she will be joined by other musical guests.
