NASHVILLE, TN. (Media Room PR/ www.kwswf.com) - Hosted in part by the popular Key West venue Hogs Breath Saloon, the festival lineup for the 2005 event, which will be held at various Key West music venues May 11-15th, features some of Nashville's most prolific songwriters, including the 2004 BMI Songwriter of the Year Jeffrey Steele.
The all-star lineup ranges from rising singer-songwriter talents like RCA recording artist John Pierce, Asylum recording artist Lee Brice, and country-rock artist Patrick Davis, to established country music songwriters who have enjoyed a dominating presence on the country music airwaves for the past several decades.
Such hit songwriters to be featured at this year's festival include the likes of Tim Nichols ('Live Like You Were Dying' recorded by Tim McGraw and 'Girls Lie Too' recorded by Teri Clark), Wendell Mobley ('There Goes My Life' recorded by Kenny Chesney and 'I Melt' recorded by Rascal Flatts), and Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association nominee Chuck Cannon, best known for his No 1 Toby Keith hits 'How Do You Like Me Now' and 'American Solider' and John Michael Montgomery's 'I Love the Way You Love Me.'
Internationally known performers include Australian CMA winner Kylie Sackley who penned the Top 5 Billboard smash 'Nothin' Bout Love' from Lee Ann Rimes and James Slater, who penned the Martina McBride tune 'In My Daughter's Eyes.'
Other confirmed performers include hit writers Brett James, Chuck Jones, Dillion Dixon, James Dean Hicks, D. Vincent Williams, Phillip & Amber White, Vicki McGehee, Kerri Harvick, Jace Everett, Randy Houser, Bart Allmand, Jen Schott, Kendall Marvel and Jamey Johnson. More of Nashville's top crop of songwriters will be added to the line-up in the coming weeks.
'Where else can we see the artists who actually wrote our favorite songs perform them?' says Key West Mayor Jimmy Weekly.
Festivals of previous years have included performances by legendary songwriters Shel Silverstein, Mac McAnally, Gary Burr, Troy Verges, Gretchen Peters and rising Americana and Country Music sensation Mindy Smith.
'Festival goers are becoming accustomed to hearing the hits live in Key West before the rest of the world hears them on the radio,' comments Hogs Breath Saloon General Manager and festival coordinator Charlie Bauer.
