NASHVILLE, TN. (www.jasonallenband.com) - The new year is already shaping up to be a successful one for D Records recording artist Jason Allen. Not only has his new single, 'Must Have Been Meant To Be' reached top 20 status in only two weeks, but the up and coming country artist will appear in a Tonight Show segment on NBC. Jason and his all-star band provided the music for the Tonight Show segment taped at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas with Comedian Tom Green. Green, who was being taught to dance by Gruene Hall owner Mary Jane Nalley, quickly took to Jason and ended up playing drums with him during Jason's song, 'John Boat Blues.' The segment is slated to air February 25, 2005, on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Jason's new single 'Must Have Been Meant To Be' shot up 24 spots this week to number 20 on the Texas Music Chart. 'Must Have Been Meant To Be,' a love song for his wife, was co-written with his father-in-law Larry Moore and Dennis Knutson, author of the George Jones hits, "Wine Colored Roses" and "The Right Left Hand.' 'Must Have Been Meant To Be,' is the second single from Jason's sophomore release, Wouldn't It Be Nice. "Writing with Dennis Knutson is like writing with one of the founders of country music. It was a great experience writing with such an incredible guy!' says Jason. "We started with the title, and the rest just flowed. It is easier to write a love song when you are able to put your true feelings down."
