NASHVILLE, TN. (Capitol Records) - The highly anticipated seventh album from multi-platinum Country music recording artist Trace Adkins, SONGS ABOUT ME is scheduled for release on March 22. Previously scheduled for a mid-April release, Capitol Records has moved the date three weeks earlier due to the steady success and impact Adkins is currently having on the country music charts.
In the past year, Adkins released two successful albums back-to-back. His Greatest Hits Collection debuted at No 1 on the Country charts and was immediately certified Gold. Just 5 months later, his Comin' On Strong CD again broke his first week sales record and was recently Platinum-certified. Adkins was featured in numerous national magazines including Billboard, Goldmine, People, Entertainment Weekly, ESPN Magazine, Rolling Stone, TV Guide, and USA Today, to name a few and was featured on covers of American Profile, CMA Close Up, TALL and Country Weekly magazines.
Additionally, Adkins made countless television appearances throughout the year including Access Hollywood, FOX & Friends, CMA Music Festival (CBS), CMT Insider, CNN Headline News, Best Damn Sports Show, Dennis Miller Show, Emeril Live, Hollywood Squares, Nashville Star and the popular game show, Pyramid. Most recently, Adkins received rave reviews of his performance during the 2005 Orange Bowl Halftime Extravaganza, featuring performances from pop co-stars Ashlee Simpson and Kelly Clarkson, as well. He made his comedic acting debut on the CBS comedy, Yes, Dear, and provided voice-over work on FOX's animated series King Of The Hill. The K F C national chicken chain also featured him on their national TV commercials.
This new release date comes as no surprise—Trace Adkins is on fire! The album's first single and title track, "Songs About Me," has been Adkins' fastest moving single to date. The video is currently in "Hot Shot" rotation on CMT. Adkins is presently co-headlining the "Bring It On & Turn It Up" tour with hot country duo, Montgomery Gentry.
