The Atlanta-based trio Sugarland, described as "honey-harmonied" in USA Today, is rapidly marking country music milestones. The trio's debut single, "Baby Girl," is bursting with momentum and just about to rocket into the Top 10 on national music trade charts, while album sales continue to move at a hasty pace.
Each of the trio's three members, Jennifer Nettles, Kristen Hall, and Kristian Bush, are successful singer/songwriters with years of experience though varied backgrounds. The combination results in songs that are fresh and rootsy, but lyrically sophisticated and catchy. The music of Sugarland is a celebration of all that life has in store and finding the silver lining even in the darkest clouds.
These harmony-laden confections showcase Nettles' twang-tinged, big, bluesy vocals cradled in the vocal imagination of Hall and Bush. Sugarland's live show is full of energy and has proven yet another of the trio's strong suits. In fact, by the time they played their fourth gig together, and just a few months after forming Sugarland, they were selling out 1000 seat venues. They signed their recording contract with Mercury just two weeks later.
The Official "Sugarland Sweet Week" runs February 14-18 at the Wildhorse Saloon. During the dates of this promotion, the Wildhorse will be giving away Sugarland CDs and merchandise to nightly contest winners. In addition, the Wildhorse baking chef has created a special Sugarland dessert.
Customers can sink their teeth into a "Baby Girl Brownie," a delicious warm brownie topped with sweet vanilla ice cream, rich hot fudge, and a trickle of raspberry sauce.
