NASHVILLE, TN. (Universal Pictures) - Universal Pictures Film 'Friday Night Lights,' in which Tim McGraw made his critically acclaimed studio film acting debut, launched on DVD last week as the top-selling movie in the country. The DVD sold over 3 million units according to Hollywood Reporter (Jan. 27) and it will top Billboard's DVD list at No 1 as well.

Roger Ebert claimed McGraw's performance as the abusive father Charles Billingsley was 'played with great power' and Mike Clark of USA Today says 'supporting standout is Tim McGraw as the boozy father of a player.'
More acclaim was expressed by Peter Travers with Rolling Stone, 'Tim McGraw, who proves a natural in the acting game' and 'Grammy winner Tim McGraw, potent in his first Hollywood role,' said Lisa Schwarzbaum of Entertainment Weekly.
