Composers Of "Sherlock", "The Same Sky", "Line Of Duty" And "The X-files" At Soundtrack Cologne 14
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) This year, Saturday August 26th is dedicated to TV series at the SoundTrack_Cologne Music Conference. The four illustrious guests draw a line from horror classics to innovative TV shows. The guests are Mark Snow (The X-Files), Michael Price (Sherlock), Carly Paradis (Line of Duty) and Walter Mair (The Same Sky).

Mark Snow is one of the most successful and experienced American composers for TV and Film - he scored more than 1,100 episodes of television, including 200 episodes of The X-Files. He started his career as a TV and film composer in the 1970s. Snow's scores are nothing less than classics. Besides The X-Files, he also composed for Smallville, One Tree Hill, Kojak, Starsky and Hutch and Hart to Hart. Less known is his long-term collaboration with the New Wave-legend Alain Resnais. Snow wrote the music for his last four movies Private Fears in Public Places, Wild Grass, You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet and Life of Riley. Over the course of his career, he has been nominated for 18 EMMY Awards and for a CÉSAR for "Private Fears in Public Places" ("Coeurs"), directed by Alain Resnais.

Michael Price is one of UK's most sought after composers. He is winner of an EMMY Award and a Royal Television Award. "Contemporary, witty and thrilling as rarely seen in European TV", the newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote about the BBC series Sherlock - whose success is partially due to the music of Michael Price and David Arnold. Other recent TV projects include the crime drama Unforgotten and the ITV action adventure Jekyll & Hyde. Prior to achieving acclaim as a composer, Michael enjoyed significant achievements as a music editor on a number of blockbuster films such as The Lord of the Rings.

The London-based Carly Paradis composed for the RTS winning and BAFTA nominated series Line of Duty for BBC, now in its 4th season. She also wrote the music for the BBC adaptation of Lady Chatterley's Lover. Her music has been used in trailers for the series True Detective, Homeland and the motion picture Hugo by Martin Scorsese. She also tours as a pianist with Clint Mansell and releases her own music, including the album Hearts To Symphony.

Walter Mair is an award-winning Austrian composer living and working in London. At SoundTrack_Cologne he is going to talk about his work on Oliver Hirschbiegel's international cold war mini-series The Same Sky. He will be joined by Kai Schoormann, who supervises fictional programmes in the main editorial office of the TV station ZDF, that co-produced the series. Mair composes for film and video games, his latest projects include Universal Pictures' documentary feature Ronaldo, the drama 3 Way Junction (starring Tom Sturridge) and the upcoming romantic drama Lucid by Adam Morse.
