NASHVILLE, TN. (Arista Nashville) - Can things get any better? This may be what Brad Paisley is asking himself after the amazing weekend he just experienced. His headline tour, 'Mud and Suds,' kicked-off in Verona, NY on Friday evening to a sold out crowd and his benefit for hometown of Wheeling, WV on Saturday evening was also sold out – bringing the total in attendance to over 14,000. Monies raised from the benefit go to the Brad Paisley Foundation and then distributed to Northern Panhandle Long-Term Flood Recovery Committee to help flood victims of the Upper Ohio Valley. The area experienced devastating floods in September 2004 and then again on January 5, 2005. The Brad Paisley Foundation was also the benefactor in distributing funds to the Wheeling Skate Park Committee earlier in January. During this weekend's show, Paisley had the opportunity to meet the young man who had written him about the town's possible ban on skate boarding and the suggestion of the skateboard park.
Due to the national attention that was drawn to the project because of Paisley's involvement, numerous donations from across the country have been pledged and the vision will soon be reality. Tickets for 'Mud and Suds' on March 6 in Rochester, MN went on sale this past Saturday. Temperatures in Rochester were reaching 22 degrees below zero but fans still lined up early to purchase tickets. One gentleman hauled his ice fishing house to the ticket office and set up at 3:00am – maybe he could give Paisley some good leads on fishing holes in that area.
