NASHVILLE, TN. (ARISTOMEDIA) - The Country
Radio Broadcasters, Inc. has announced the establishment of the Tom Rivers Humanitarian Award in honor of former CRB, Inc. Board Member Tom Rivers.
The award will recognize individuals in the Country radio industry who have displayed a magnanimous spirit of caring and generosity in service to their community. The first award will be presented in conjunction with the Artist Humanitarian Award during the opening ceremonies of the 36th Annual Country
Radio Seminar - Thursday, March 3, 2005.
Tom Rivers passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2004. The first award will be presented to his mother, Mariellen Maloney Cvetic, who will accept it on his behalf.
"When Tom Rivers died, CRB lost a valued member of the Board of Directors. Many of us lost an irreplaceable friend and the Country radio industry lost an icon. However, Tom's contributions extended far beyond his prowess and enthusiasm for our format," Kim Leslie-Brosche, Air Personality/Music
Director for WKDF Nashville and CRB Board Member noted when announcing that the Board had created this award.
CRB will begin soliciting presentations for nominees for next year's award starting later this year.
