 NASHVILLE, TN. (Rounder Records) - Rounder Records bluegrass group The Grascals will make their Grand Ole Opry debut on February 4 and 5, performing on all three Opry shows that weekend during the Opry's two-month return to the hallowed stage of the Ryman Auditorium. Superstar Dolly Parton will introduce and perform with the band during Grand Ole Opry Live, airing on Great American Country on Saturday, February 5, at 8:00 PM ET/PT. "This is literally a dream come true for all of us," said singer/guitarist Jamie Johnson. "We couldn't ask for more than to make our Opry debut, with Dolly Parton, at the Ryman." The Grascals also make their prominent debut in Country Weekly as the "Who's New" feature in the issue currently on stands (Jan. 17). The Grascals will release their self-titled debut album on Rounder Records on February 8. Their first single, a version of Elvis Presley's "Viva Las Vegas" recorded as a duet with Parton, debuted at No 3 on Billboard's country singles sales chart, where it remained in the top 10 for five consecutive weeks. After wrapping up Dolly Parton's Hello, I'm Dolly tour, The Grascals' own itinerary includes upcoming performances at Wintergrass in Tacoma (Feb. 24), Gateway City Bluegrass Festival in St. Louis (Feb. 26), Festival in the Pines in Rocky Mount, VA (May 14), Bill Monroe Memorial Bluegrass Festival in Bean Blossom, IN (June 14) and the California Bluegrass Association Bluegrass Festival in Grass Valley, CA (June 17-18).
