NEW YORK (ASCAP) - ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) is pleased to announce the artist line-up for the daytime programming at the Sundance Film Festival Music Cafe during the 2005 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Daytime performances at the Music Cafe, produced by ASCAP, will be open to Festival credential holders from January 21 - 28, 2005.

The Music Cafe, produced by ASCAP, is located at The Star Bar @ Plan B, 268 Main Street in Park City, and continues to be one of the most popular draws at the Festival. It is dedicated to showcasing the exceptional talent of new artists, top names and emerging artists, and is a place where independent filmmakers can meet and interact with film composers and songwriters to encourage collaboration amongst all of these talents.

This year's eight-day Music Cafe series will highlight some of ASCAP's most exciting members including And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, Peter Cincotti, Billy Currington, The Dresden Dolls, Mary Gauthier, Rickie Lee Jones, Angelique Kidjo, Kings of Leon, Ben Kweller, Los Pinguos, Martin Luther, Michael McDonald, Nellie McKay, Lori McKenna, Midnight Movies, Raul Midon, Anna Nalick, Linda Perry, Glen Phillips and Nickel Creek's Sara & Sean Watkins, Kyle Riabko, Suzanne Vega, and Saul Williams.

Daytime performances at the Music Cafe, produced by ASCAP, will take place 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM daily (4:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Friday, January 21). For the complete schedule, bios and photos of the performing artists, visit ASCAP's website at: https://www.ascap.com/sundance2005/.

Over the past six years, ASCAP has presented both legendary and cutting edge artists at the Music Cafe such as India.Arie, Joseph Arthur with Ben Harper & Peter Gabriel, Edie Brickell, Jon Brion, Guy Clark, Clem Snide, Shawn Colvin, Rodney Crowell, John Doe, Ricky Fante, Patty Griffin, Emmylou Harris, John Hiatt, Joe Jackson, Jonny Lang, Daniel Lanois, Jason Mraz, Nickel Creek, Old 97's, Fernando Osorio, Damien Rice, Josh Ritter, Sweet Pea Atkinson & Was (Not Was) Quintet featuring Don & David Was, Wayne Kramer & Narada Michael Walden and Bernie Worrell, and many others.

Established in 1914, ASCAP is the world's largest performing rights organization with nearly 200,000 composer, lyricist and music publisher members representing all genres of music.
ASCAP is committed to protecting the rights of its members by licensing and collecting royalties for the public performance of their copyrighted works, and then distributing these fees to the Society's members based on performances.
ASCAP's Board of Directors is made up solely of writers and publishers, elected by the membership every two years.
