BEND, OR. (Elizabeth Blackney/ THE HILL GROUP) -
Elizabeth Blackney of The Hill Group, based in Oregon, released the following statement today.
"As Media
Director for the California Delegation to the Republican
National Convention in New York City, I was fortunate to work with many wonderful people. First, I'm deeply thankful to Dr. Dora Kingsley, Delegation Director. She is a true lady and a principled professional in the mold of the late
Barbara Olson."
"A key piece for the California Delegation was the presence of country music superstar DarryI Worley all week. After headlining the Monday evening General Session at Madison Square Garden, he transitioned to keynote the California Delegation's experience at New York City landmark Tavern on the Green late Wednesday night. He attracted fans from outside the Delegation as well. Sean Hannity and Al Franken set aside partisanship to enjoy time off the clock."
"I remain truly inspired by Darryl's lifelong dedication to the soldiers, sailors, airmen & Marines who make our freedom possible. For a man who performed at the Pentagon in the wake of the September 11th attacks, in Ohio at the largest Bush Cheney 2004 rally featuring President Bush, and is currently finishing his third USO tour to the Middle East - having already been to South Korea & Japan earlier this fall, Darryl Worley is a genuine leader and patriot."
The Hill Group was also pleased to work with the Second Yamamoto Mission Association in its efforts to advance the Congressional Medal of Honor nomination for the late Col. Rex T. Barber. Col. Barber was responsible for shooting down Japanese Admiral Isoruku Yamamoto, the architect of the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. Legislation was introduced by a unanimous Congressional Delegation from Oregon, garnered widespread national support. We are hopeful these efforts will continue under the steady leadership of US House Rep. Greg Walden & US Senators Gordon Smith & Ron Wyden in the 109th U. S. Congress.
"I wish all of the clients, colleagues and volunteers at events along the way a peaceful holiday season and successful new year."
