Grunge-Pop Group Ramonda Hammer Emanate Angst In "If, Then"; The Band's Latest Video Is A Stunning Display Of Distress
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts) Grunge-pop band Ramonda Hammer released their latest music video for the single If, Then, a perfect summation of the bands artistic point of reference that is rich with heavy guitar hooks and lyrical introspection. If, Then is the second single off the bands album, Whatever That Means, which is now available on iTunes and Spotify.

Ramonda Hammer recently made a name for themselves with their playful and self-aware breakthrough into the alternative, indie-rock scene. The music video for their debut single, Goddamn Idiot is a hilarious parody of the show Cheaters. Conversely, in the video for If, Then, Ramonda Hammer takes a more sober position of exploring the pain and frustration of finding ones place in the world. Produced by Vincent Hall and directed by Michael Chance, the video finds a lonely and misunderstood girl, played by Meghan Cox, who connects with the song in a cathartic release as she watches the band performing at an underground show. The show scenes were filmed at Los Angeles legendary DIY music venue, The Smell, which truly captivated the dark, angsty mood of the music. With breathtaking visuals that include fragmented objects frozen in space to reflect the same feeling of isolation the main character of the video feels, this video is Ramonda Hammers most fully realized work yet.

If, Then maintains a sense of hope with clever and empathetic lyrics. The song is packed with guitar work reminiscent of The Smashing Pumpkins and The Pixies, paired with unapologetic raw vocals recalling Shirley Manson of Garbage. 90s alternative rock has always been a pivotal source of inspiration for Ramonda Hammer, whose CD release show (also at The Smell) was surrounded by old TVs playing silent episodes of The Adventures of Pete & Pete as the band shredded and shrieked their anthemic grunge rock and covered a classic from Nirvana.

The band, which is a cast of unlikely misfits, solidified their lineup in the summer - founder and front-woman Devin Davis on guitar and vocals, Andy Hengl on bass, Justin Geter on lead guitar, and Danny Louangxay on drums. Shortly after, they ran a very successful Kickstarter campaign and found themselves in the studio last fall. In April 2016, Ramonda Hammer released their first full-length album, Whatever That Means, recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound with Grammy-nominated sound engineer, Morgan Stratton. The band has graced the stage of prominent Los Angeles venues such as The Echo, The Satellite, The Viper Room and The Smell; they are currently gearing up for a tour this summer in support of the newly released album.
