LOS ANGELES (Curb Records) - Country superstar LeAnn Rimes has a Top l0 Country record this week with "Nothin' Bout Love Makes Sense," from her January 25th release THIS WOMAN. It's the first time the 22 year old industry vet has been in the Top l0 of Billboard's Hot Country Singles Chart in four years. The video is also a top played track on CMT. Produced by Dann Huff, THIS WOMAN is chock full of other country tracks including "I Got it Bad," " Some People" and " Probably Wouldn't Be This Way". The country flavor of THIS WOMAN and her move to Nashville two year ago gives proof to Rimes continued dedication to the genre. "Nothin' Bout Love Makes Sense," is a rollicking good time track, complete with fiddles and slide guitar work. Some of the songs on THIS WOMAN came from songwriters that LeAnn knew well. Others were songs that she had co-written.
Taken together, they formed an arc over a full range of emotions: tragic loss on "Probably Wouldn't Be This Way"' a "kick-butt" (LeAnn's words) rocker called "I Got It Bad," written by LeAnn and hubby Dean Sheremet and already a staple at NASCAR races; the infectious, hit track, "Nothin' 'Bout Love Makes Sense," whose sunny optimism mirrors LeAnn's feelings about her present and future. Rimes is currently on a symphony tour in support of her Christmas album, WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD. In early 2005, she will appear on the Today Show, Regis & Kelly and will host Nashville Star.
