NASHVILLE, TN. (CMT PR) - Imagine yourself in a highly successful band on the eve of your third album release, mounting the biggest tour of your career and on the wildest ride of your life. That scenario sets the stage for CMT TOTAL ACCESS: RASCAL FLATTS, premiering Thursday, Dec. 30 at 8:30-9:30 PM, ET/PT*. The CMT original catches up with Rascal Flatts - Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney - as they begin rehearsals for their "Here's To You" headline tour.

Viewers will get a first-hand look at the pre-tour preparation that goes far beyond song selection, stage design, and gear. "Most people have no idea what goes into putting a show like this together," says DeMarcus.

To promote the release of the new album, "Feels Like Today," CMT follows Rascal Flatts on a private jet traveling to nine cities in three days - from New York City to Minneapolis to Dallas. CMT is behind the scenes with the guys when they learn their new record debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts and has gone platinum.

CMT TOTAL ACCESS: RASCAL FLATTS also shows what the group does best - making music. CMT cameras follow them on the road to see how all of the elements of a live performance comes together including the stage, lights, sounds, fans and the music.

Rascal Flatts' third album, "Feels Like Today," debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. Although the Dixie Chicks previously debuted on the all-genre Billboard 200 albums chart with "Fly" and "Home," Rascal Flatts is the only other country group to have an album hit No. 1 on the list during the first week of release.
Rascal Flatts had the fifth highest first-week sales of any country album released this year. Pulling in a host of awards and accolades, Rascal Flatts is the reigning CMA, ACM, and ASCAP Vocal Group of the Year, and also holds the CMT FLAME WORTHY VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS title for Group/Duo Video of the Year for "I Melt."
