 LOS ANGELES (Bonnie Marquez/ KZLA) - Country 93-9, For the second year in a row, KZLA takes "Operation Hugs from Home" on the road in support of U.S. troops stationed on the front lines this Holiday Season. KZLA is asking its listeners to donate items such as individually wrapped snack food, DVDs, knit hats and gloves, disposable cameras, global calling cards, handheld electronic games, and lip balm. The drive begins this Friday, December 3rd at 6:00 a.m. at Elmore Toyota in Westminster with the "Peter Tilden Morning Show" and continues with KZLA afternoon personality "Whitney Allen" from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Donation items will be accepted all day from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Through "Operation Hugs From Home," KZLA has been able to donate hundreds of thousands of much needed items to the troops and their families. All donations benefit Operation Gratitude ... seeking to lift troops' morale and bring a smile to their faces with care packages from home.
