New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Three years into co-hosting America's Morning Show with Blair Garner, Chuck Wicks is about to reclaim his status as one of country music's greatest young singers.
On Feb. 26, the handsome entertainer and outdoorsman will release the 11-track Turning Point, his second full-length album and first on the Blaster Records imprint.
Turning Point follows Wicks' 2008 RCA album Starting Now, whose Top 5 hit "Stealing Cinderella" helped power it to No. 7 on Billboard's country albums chart. A run of successful follow-ups came in quick succession, including "All I Ever Wanted," "Man Of The House," "Hold That Thought" and "Old School," which all spent time in the top 40.
An established songwriter, Wicks' songs have been recorded by Jason Aldean, the Swon Brothers, Frankie Ballard and Steve Holy, so its no surprise that he co-wrote every track on this album. "I have a lot of creative interests but the one thing remains consistent is my songwriting. I've been working harder than ever on my craft and I think this album reflects that," shares the former Delaware farm boy. "I've also always been interested in production, so getting to co-produce Turning Point with my good buddy and co-writer Andy Dodd was big career milestone for me."
Turning Point affirms Wicks as a multi-dimensional, fully-realized artist -- a sensational singer with plenty to say through his lyrics and melodies in the kaleidoscopic romantic imagery of "Whole Damn Thing" (Wicks & Liz Rose), soulful swagger of "Saturday Afternoon" (Wicks, Rodney Clawson & Chris Tompkins), dreamy romanticism of the Top 40 single "Us Again" (Wicks, Tiffany Vartanyan & Andy Dodd), incendiary mix of introspection and explosive emotion of "I Don't Do Lonely Well" (Wicks, Tom Shapiro & Neil Thrasher, recorded previously by Aldean) and his pain-seared current single and opening track "She's Gone" (Wicks, Brett Tyler & Jeffrey East).
In recent years, Wicks has been juggling multiple pursuits. In addition to partnering with Blair Garner on the nationally syndicated radio program America's Morning Show, he has appeared frequently on television, playing himself on an episode of ABC-TV's Nashville and as a special guest on several of the Outdoor Channel's shows, including: Addicted To The Outdoors, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation's "Team Elk" and Craig Morgan's All Access Outdoors.
Wicks is also training to complete in an Ironman triathlon in May 2016 and involved actively in wildlife conservation through the Rocky Mountain Elk Society. As if that's not enough to fill any go-getter's calendar, he is gearing up to launch his own Spring 2016 tour in support of Turning Point.
