The Funeral Portrait, a five piece "Theatre Rock" outfit from Atlanta, GA, have set out to blend the elements of rock and roll, heavy metal, and theatre, all under a tightly woven blanket of pop sensibility. Consisting of Lee Jennings on vocals, Juergie Landstrom on guitar and vocals, AJ Pekarek on lead guitar, Chris King on bass, and Stephen Danzey on drums, the band creatively paints their stories of love, loss, anger, and grief onto a canvas of skillfully crafted songs. Originally starting as the band Cosmoscope in 2012, the members, while all the same, played different instruments and worked together at playing over 200 shows from 2012 through the spring of 2014. In 2013, the band caught the attention of Alesana vocalist & Revival Recordings President Shawn Milke. While performing as a local act in their home city of Atlanta, Milke quickly jumped on the "Cosmoscope bandwagon," and brought the band into the Revival Recordings family. "Signing The Funeral Portrait to Revival was a no-brainer. They are primed to do big things in 2015 and beyond," adds Milke.

After finalizing how each member fit into the band and assuming a stronger moniker in The Funeral Portrait, the boys immediately started working on their debut EP at Adelaide Recording Studios in Raleigh, NC, with engineer Neil Engle (Alesana, A Skylit Drive, Dance Gavin Dance) and Milke, taking the reins as producer. The whirlwind that followed, which included a tour with Alesana, releasing their debut EP For The Dearly Departed, and filming their first music video with director Justin Reich (Zakk Wylde, Between The Buried & Me, Hatebreed), cemented their place as a band on the rise; culminating with their inclusion in Alternative Press' The 100 Bands You Need To Know in 2015.

The Funeral Portrait, which is hard at work writing material for a new full length album, can be seen this spring on Alesana's 'Confessions' tour, along with Capture The Crown, Conquer Divide, and The Browning.
