Kaplansky & Shindell's Pine Hill Project Reimagine's Nick Lowe's "Battlefield"; Exclusive CMT Edge Premiere
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) As solo artists, Lucy Kaplansky and Richard Shindell have been making critically acclaimed albums since the early 1990s, and each have contributed harmonies to every one of those albums. But with the exception of 1998's one-off Cry Cry Cry album with Dar Williams, the two songwriters have never made an album together - that is, until now. And it's been worth the wait. As The Pine Hill Project, Lucy and Richard will release their combined effort Tomorrow You're Going on March 17th via Signature Sounds. Today, CMT Edge featured the exclusive premiere of their new single - a reimagined version of Nick Lowe's "I Live on a Battlefield."

"Nick Lowe is one of my favorite songwriters," said Shindell in their interview with CMT. "Even when dealing with some pretty dark lyrical material, he always manages to offset it with some kind of levity - a little joke, or a silly rhyme, or (as is the case here) a ridiculously catchy musical setting. When I imagine the Battlefield, I see an apartment strewn with chinese take-out, empty bottles, and overflowing ashtrays - abject dissolution."

Produced by multi-instrumentalist and two-time Grammy Award winner Larry Campbell (best known for his work with Levon Helm and as part of Bob Dylan's touring band, as well as sideman for Sheryl Crow and Willie Nelson), Tomorrow You're Going is an evocative, sometimes rollicking, and deeply moving collection of 11 songs from writers as diverse as Greg Brown ("Lately"), Elizabeth Ziman ("Open Book"), even U2 ("Sweetest Thing"). There's also the lovely wistful country twang they bring to the lost Little Feat gem "Missing You," and Porter Wagoner & Dolly Parton's "Making Plans" from which the album's title is culled.

The album's first single, a cover of Gillian Welch's "Wichita," was featured by The Bluegrass Situation stating "the song leans on a honky [tonk] piano and a chunky groove, rather than the acoustic guitar and linear rhythm of Welch's version."

The Pine Hill Project will tour in support of Tomorrow You're Going beginning this week, including a string of dates with Larry Campbell opening the shows and playing in the band.

Tomorrow You're Going Track List:
1) Lately (Greg Brown)
2) Wichita (Gillian Welch)
3) Open Book (Elizabeth Ziman)
4) I Live On A Battlefield (Nick Lowe)
5) Farewell To Saint Dolores (David Robert Carter)
