Lou Reed signs to Sanctuary Records

NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Sanctuary Records) - Sanctuary Group Inc Chief Executive Officer Merck Mercuriadis is delighted to announce the signing of Lou Reed to an exclusive long term worldwide deal with Sanctuary Records Group.

Says CEO Merck Mercuriadis, "There are not enough adjectives in the dictionary to describe Lou Reed's importance to our culture, but if I had to pick one it would be 'dangerous.'

Over the last 40 years as composer, poet, lyricist, musician, vocalist and sound pioneer, Lou Reed has constantly pushed the envelope with his art - and through his lack of compromise transformed many seemingly impossible barriers.
In the process he has created not just one, but many of the greatest albums and songs of all time, straight through to his top 10 single success with 'Satellite Of Love' in the UK in 2004. I never went to University. I did not need to, as in my own bedroom through the grooves of Berlin, Street Hassle, The Velvet Underground and so many other important albums, I was attending the University of Lou Reed - and it taught me much of what I needed to know about life. I made it a point of not only graduating, but graduating with honors, and today it is an honor to welcome Lou Reed to the Sanctuary family. We look forward to pushing the envelope with him through this next important chapter of his evolution as an artist."
