NASHVILLE, TN. (Capitol Records) - Following the success of the first Kids' Country album that spent 44 weeks on the Children's music charts, Capitol Nashville will release Kids' Country Hits 2 on Tuesday, October 19.

The second CD in the series, features a whole new collection of country songs sung by kids, for kids, including hits like Sara Evans' "Born To Fly," Rascal Flatts' "Mayberry," and Shania Twain's "You're Still The One."

Once again, producer Darrell Brown wanted the musical quality of the Kids' Country Hits 2 album to match that of records aimed at adults so he rounded up Nashville's top musicians to accompany the light-hearted group of children singers. "Driving in the car, or having the record playing at home – the parents have to listen to this music also," says Brown. "So we wanted to raise the bar where the parents felt like they were hearing the record that they loved. At the same time, kids are singing, which makes it cool for kids listening to it."

Brown also looked for songs that would appeal to both adults and kids, concentrating on up-tempo tunes with lyrics that wouldn't cause any concern among parents. "We tried to find songs that weren't as graphic, and when a lyric might be questionable for young kids, we went to the songwriter to adjust it for us," says Brown.

Making this project even more extraordinary was the involvement of some local children who are battling serious illness. Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee, Capitol Records gathered a group of children who have had wishes granted and who wanted to sing on a real album.
They were invited to sing on two of the tracks, "Hey Good Looking" and "Wave on Wave."

In addition, Justin, a Make-A-Wish teenager, who hopes to one day own a recording studio, worked as an engineer on the two tracks. His wish was granted when he received musical equipment for a recording studio in his house. "From this experience, The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Middle TN and Capitol Records have helped me prepare for my future," Justin said.
