McCartney's October 1 Tobin Center Concert In San Antonio Matches 45th Anniversary Of "Abbey Road" U.S. Release
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) October 1, 1969, "Abbey Road" is released in the U.S. Forty-five years later - October 1, 2014 - Paul McCartney brings his "Out There" tour to downtown San Antonio for an intimate performance in the just-opened 1,750-seat Tobin Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Four and a half decades after the release of that iconic Beatles album, McCartney is thriving "Out There," playing to sold-out stadiums and arenas.

But on October 1, he will do something different and rare. He will play in The Tobin, a performing arts hall which just opened September 4 . . . where no seat is more than 143 feet from the stage . . .where the acoustics are already nationally-acclaimed . . . where the audience experience - hearing every note and nuance and being "right there" - is unique.

Once the Beatles appeared on the "Ed Sullivan Show" in February, 1964, their days of playing smaller halls - like the Cavern Club in Liverpool - were essentially over. McCartney's once-in-a-lifetime concert will conclude The Tobin's month-long opening festival with a bang. (FYI, McCartney's only other concert in San Antonio was in 1993, when he opened the 65,000-seat Alamo Dome.)
