Various Hands Find Their Groove, Get Spacey With Hypoluxo EP
St. Louis, Missouri (Top40 Charts/ Heatwave Management) Many agree that a band's second release could very well be their most important. While the first record introduces listeners to a new band's sound and pulls them in, the second record needs to show listeners that the band can maintain that sound while pushing their boundaries and creating songs that are truly stellar to keep said listener coming back. Various Hands has done just that with their forthcoming EP, Hypoluxo.

Various Hands formed in 2011 and, with the release of their debut EP that same year, managed to tour the Midwest, secure airplay on 300+ radio stations in North America and land licensing agreements with 14 major TV networks (including Discovery, Fox Sports, MTV, etc.). Now with a crystal-clear vision of their aspirations and sound, the band is poised to put itself on the national scene with their self-produced, sophomore release, Hypoluxo. Hypoluxo serves up six tracks of upbeat, ambient dance rock that combine tapping guitars, bouncy drum beats and layers of spacey synths. The result is a sonic landscape that is both hypnotic and irresistibly catchy and danceable.

"Water all 'round. No get out". That is the literal translation of the Seminole word, "Hypoluxo", which serves as the title for Various Hands' sophomore EP. "There really couldn't be a more perfect title for this record", explains lead vocalist/guitarist Jeff Nations, "It describes so many things about this release and sets a great tone for it". The lead single, "Memphis Decisions (Be Cool)", finds the band exploring new instrumental territory, incorporating an Omnichord and an intricate, ping-pong delay bassline whereas tunes like, "R.M.A." and "Lipstick" remind listeners of the band's fun, simpler moments. "The Last Few Days Of This Splendid Town" explores darker tones and lyrical subject matter while "The Perils Of Time Travel" and "The Fleeting Starlight" show Various Hands' gradual move toward a more ambient, synth-laden sound that is present throughout Hypoluxo.

Hypoluxo is slated for worldwide release on Tuesday July 22, 2014 and will be distributed by MondoTunes, a subsidiary of INgrooves/Universal Music Group. Various Hands will celebrate the release of this record with a CD release party at Plush in St. Louis, MO on Friday July 18, 2014. The date will also be the first night of their 8-night Hypoluxo Midwest Tour.

Various Hands was founded in August 2011 by lead vocalist/guitarist Jeff Nations. The band is rounded out by bassist/vocalist Adam Wirth, drummer Ben Pitts and guitarist/keyboardist Zach Meier. Each musician comes from an extensive background of music and the result is a tight, explosive sound backed by an energetic and dazzling live show.

"Various Hands has a certain happy go lucky aura without all the clichés that makes me want to listen to them more. They really do deliver the goods." -Autonomy Music Reviews

"They kept me wanting to listen to each song a few more times, and with music coming out as of late, it is hard to find an artist that can hold the attention of the listener" -Dom Rini, The Examiner
