New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) No BS! Brass Band, co-founded by
Bon Iver trombonist Reggie Pace and featuring first-call horn players who perform with everyone from Megafaun and
Sharon Van Etten to the Wailers and Gladys Knight, have confirmed a summer tour kicking off June 7 in Birmingham, AL, on a bill with Galactic. They'll bring their "sternum-rattling...hot, irrepressible blast of brass and canyon-like grooves" (SPIN) to festivals around North
America throughout the rest of the summer, sharing bills with Trombone Shorty, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Rebirth Brass Band, and more. Check out their NPR Tiny Desk Concert for a taste of the live show, a joyous blend of influences from Mingus to Michael Jackson, and see below for full dates: https://www.npr.org/event/music/191677820/no-bs-brass-band-tiny-desk-concert
Last year, the 11-piece brass and drums band released two critically acclaimed albums, 'RVA All Day' and 'Fight Song: A Tribute to Charles Mingus.' NPR said, "The point isn't to redefine what a brass band can do, but that's what No BS! achieves," while the Wall Street Journal raved that they made "the year's best all-brass album" and named them one of 2013's best live shows. They made their Lincoln Center debut, and Paste hailed their "bone-rattling, booty-shaking, fist-pounding brand of brass ferocity."
Stay tuned for additional dates to be announced.
