E. Ness, born Lloyd E. Mathis on November 10, 1977, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an American rapper who gained national attention as a member of the hip-hop group Da Band, formed during MTV's reality show Making the Band 2 in the early 2000s. Following the group's disbandment, Ness established himself in the battle rap circuit, participating in leagues such as the Ultimate Rap League and Grind Time Now. Known for his sharp lyrical skills and dynamic stage presence, E.
